Glasgow Airport will host its biggest-ever jobs fair on 19 January, with more than 320 roles available.
More than 30 employers based across the airport’s campus will be represented at the event, which will be held on the first floor of the main terminal between 10am and 4pm.
Recruitment teams from air traffic providers NATS, ground handlers Swissport and Menzies, security specialists ICTS, facilities management partner ABM, catering specialists The Restaurant Group and Select Service Partners, will be on hand to discuss full-time, part-time and seasonal employment opportunities. Loganair will also be in attendance to recruit for a range of positions.
Transport operators First and McGill’s will also be recruiting for a large number of trainee and bus driver positions, along with retailers including World Duty Free and both the Celtic and Rangers stores within the terminal.
Job opportunities range from air traffic control services to security, retail, facilities management, catering and ground handling. There are also a number of direct Glasgow Airport jobs available in areas of the business including human resources, finance, airfield operations and the control centre.
Ronald Leitch, operations director at Glasgow Airport, said: “As the industry continues its recovery we anticipate that we will welcome an additional one million passengers to Glasgow Airport in 2023.
“Having joined the airport 22 years ago as a management trainee, I can say first hand it is a fantastic and exciting place to work.”
Representatives from Invest in Renfrewshire and Jobcentre Plus staff will also be present to offer support and advice, while translators will also be on hand to support Polish, Romanian and Ukrainian jobseekers.
Given the security requirements involved in working at an airport, many of the roles on offer will require a full five-year checkable history.
Invest in Renfrewshire will operate a shuttle bus service between 30 Causeyside Street in Paisley to the airport’s jobs fair. Complimentary parking will also be available on the day in the airport’s multi-storey car park.
Natalie Don, MSP for Renfrewshire North and West, said: “It is great to see Glasgow Airport organising a jobs fair to help recruit new employees and give local residents a chance at finding employment - I would encourage anyone who is looking for a job to pop along and see if there is a post for you.”
