A jealous thug who ripped up a woman's flooring because it had been laid by her ex-partner was jailed for five years.
Gerard Kilpatrick tormented the victim during a lengthy campaign of abuse.
Jurors heard how this also included the 40-year-old leaving the mum trapped inside a flat for a month.
Kilpatrick was convicted of engaging in abusive behaviour, attempting to pervert the course of justice, and breaching bail.
The crimes spanned between May 2019 and May 2020.
Glasgow Sheriff Court was also told at the sentencing that Kilpatrick will be under supervision for one year upon his release from prison.
A 10-year non-harassment order restricting Kilpatrick’s contact with the victim was also made by sheriff Tom Hughes.
The trial heard how Kilpatrick preyed on the woman at a flat in the city's Dalmarnock.
She regularly suffered at his violent hands including him lashing out when she asked him to help tidy the property.
Prosecutor Carrie Stevens said the terrified mum was also the target of his "mind games".
The fiscal told jurors: "He ripped up the flooring in the house just because it had been put in by her ex-boyfriend.
"You might think that one of the most shocking parts of her evidence was that Kilpatrick locked her in her house for four weeks
"She repeatedly asked where the keys were. He either led her on a wild goose chase around the house or refused to say where they were.
"She did not have a phone as Kilpatrick had smashed it."
Jurors heard by the woman being hidden away it helped hide her injuries.
The woman once begged a relative of Kilpatrick for help - but was told: "You deal with it."
The trial also heard she was left with so little cash, she was forced to rely on food banks to feed herself and her children.
Kilpatrick later threatened the woman and her mother at a court hearing in December 2020.
It emerged he already had a previous high court conviction for assault and robbery.
