Leeds United ended their pre-season tour of Australia with a 1-1 draw against Crystal Palace at the Optus Stadium. Rodrigo's second-half penalty was cancelled out by Jean Phillipe Mateta in a feisty affair in which several bookings were handed out on a questionable surface.
Whites boss Jesse Marsch made three changes from the side that lost to Aston Villa, with Luis Sinisterra starting his first game in a Leeds shirt. But the Colombian's debut was short-lived as he was taken off with a suspected hamstring injury after 11 minutes.
Chances were few and far between in a game that resembled a pre-season friendly in quality but less so in aggression, with heavy challenges from both sides earning deserved yellow cards. Leeds built up play well from the back but lacked precision in the final third during the first half.

The introduction of Crysencio Summerville added quality and it was the 20-year-old who was fouled for the penalty which Rodrigo slotted home. Palace equalised on the counter-attack through Mateta, exposing a potential problem for Leeds' pressing.
Joe Gelhardt forged some good chances as the game stretched, but a litany of poor challenged broke the game up and even Marsch ended up with a booking.
