A girl whose dad married 12-year-old girls has admitted he kept his "family" of 132 women on a tight leash.
Sarah Thompson, 20, grew up in the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ and the Latter-Day Saints (FLDS) in Texas, US, with her dad Warren Jeffs, the convicted rapist and polygamist.
She was part of the family, who lived together until 2012, but eventually decided to leave for a life outside the cult.
Sarah has spoken out against her dad after she appeared in the recent Netflix series Keep Sweet: Pray and Obey.
Warren Jeffs was known to the girls as "father" who would rip families apart by taking mums away and brainwash them.
Warren, who was on the FBI's Most Wanted list, ran the cult until 2006. He was jailed in 2011 for child rape.
And now Sarah has lift the lid on what life was like under the "prophet" as she woke up every day at 5am to feed her cows and chickens.
She would then have a reading from another old male “prophet” followed by school between 8am-3pm.
After school she was forced to do chores which included “cleaning the dishes of 132 people”, which she said “lasted hours”.
The girls were subjected to classes in the evening which happened between 8pm-9pm and was full of Warren's twisted propaganda.
He would have classes for adults, which he considered anyone over the age of 12.
But despite being sent to prison in 2011 for his heinous crimes, the cult leader continued to run the group with an iron fist, according to Sarah.
She said: "He got more strict because he felt like he was losing power. I was just caught in the middle of it.
“The messages he would send from prison would get a lot more strict over time. Honestly it was just fun for him”.
Sarah's mum joined the cult and married Warren after just turning 19. She was told by to prepare for the marriage at the age of 12.
She added: “He had several wives who were under the age of 18, like a lot of them. All the girls started to be preparing for marriage very young - all of our lives.”
But at the age of 15, Sarah's mum finally told her daughter her dad wasn't a prophet and that it was all a lie.
She told her: “Your whole life you’ve been told stuff that isn’t true, your father is a criminal”.
Having grown up with the cult Sarah didn't know any different but she revealed she was stunned to find out her dad was a criminal.
Sarah said: "Is this real, am I really this age, am I really his daughter, am I really mum’s child?” “I didn’t even know how sex worked, I just knew you got married and had children.
“I thought it was through kissing - I didn’t know what sex was until mum explained to me a few years later.”
The 20-year-old has since spoken out against her time outside the cult for the first time.
She said: "Being a part of the Gentile world, it was really strange.
“I was excited but I was terrified. I was not around people at all, I was very shy. I couldn’t talk normal. I didn’t even know what candy was.
“When I first walked into public school, it was so loud. Boys were so close to girls, it was terrifying.
“Any male teacher, I would just look at the ground, as you’re supposed to respect the man. I was a lot slower and really quiet as that’s how you were taught to talk."
Sarah said her unconventional life has left her questioning many things but she is thankful for her mum.
She added: "I have not gone to therapy yet. I need to. I know it would help me. I look back and think why did I have to be born to him. But my mum - who’s an angel - I was lucky enough to be born to her."
