Girl thought ribcage lump was ice skating injury until she finally had it checked

A 15-year-old girl who thought a painful lump on her ribcage was caused by an ice skating fall found out it was actually bone cancer one year later.

After a usual skating session, Georgia Leslie, now 18, felt some discomfort when leaning on her arm and found a small red lump in the middle of her right rib cage that later became the size of an orange.

Georgia, who lives in Halifax, West Yorkshire, with her nurse mum, Katie, 36, football coach dad, Richard, 40, and sister Rebecca, 14, said: “I was leaning on a table when I realised my right side felt a bit uncomfortable and when I looked to see why, I saw the tiniest little bump.
