Girl's body found with maggots on in room 'unfit for an animal'

The body of a teenage girl was found covered in maggots and flies after she died in a bedroom "unfit for an animal".

Kaylea Titford weighed 22 stone and 13lbs, with a body mass index of 70, when she died in October 2020 at her home in Newtown in North Wales, where she was found lying in soiled clothing and bed linen. The 16-year-old's mother Sarah Lloyd-Jones, 39, admitted manslaughter by gross negligence earlier this year.

Her father, Alun Titford, 45, denied the offence but was today (Tuesday) found guilty at Mold Crown Court.
