A girl of 11 found dead alongside her younger brother and parents in west London had not attended school for four days before the bodies were found, neighbours said today.
Teachers at Southville Primary in Feltham reportedly asked pupils whether they knew of Maja Wlodarczyk’s whereabouts when she failed to turn up for classes.
She was found dead alongside her three-year-old brother, Dawid, and parents Michal Wlodarczyk, 39, and Monika Wlodarczyk, 35, on Friday.
Police were called to the family home in Staines Road, Bedfont, at 3.12pm amid concerns for their welfare. Post-mortem examinations will be carried out to establish cause of death but detectives are not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident.
A mother, whose son is in Maja’s year, said it was believed she was last in school on Monday.
She told the Telegraph that the teacher had talked to pupils about her whereabouts. She added: “I think it was her who called the police. She had a whole conversation with us, asking if any of us have heard from Maja. She said she would call someone if none of us had.”
The family were Polish, according to neighbours, who said Mr Wlodarczyk worked as a builder while Mrs Wlodarczyk was a hotel cleaner.
Another mother said her daughter — who was in year six with Maja —attended a sleepover party at the house on May 31. Maria Gouveia, 37, said: “It’s tragic. Her parents were really good people, hard workers.
“Maja was a lovely, beautiful girl, with a strong personality, but she had not been in school for a few days. People in her class were texting her. My daughter messaged her on Snapchat. It was not like her to go quiet.
“I think they were going to Majorca for the dad’s 40th birthday very soon. That’s where I hoped they were when I heard about this. It’s shocking. The little boy was so sweet, he was going to start nursery in a few months. We are praying for them.”
Another mother, Naura Hooper, 46, said: “Maja was a nice girl, very intelligent and well-liked. The family were nice whenever I met them.”
