The mother and grandmother of a nine-year-old have been charged with murder after the young girl died from symptoms relating to a severe head lice infestation.
Paramedics found the youngster unresponsive and with a "large amount of bugs on her face" after being called to a home in Tucson, Arizona, court documents state.
They were unable to resuscitate her and later told investigators that "upon closer inspection it was discovered that there was an enormous amount of lice in her hair", the Mirror reports.
