A coroner has ruled that a teenager who died after she fell from the Humber Bridge did intend to take her own life after two days of harrowing evidence at her inquest.
Grace Fyfe, 17, died in the early hours after attempting to call a friend and sending a heart-aching text to her mum, the inquest heard. With dreams of becoming a drama teacher, friends and family have described the teenager as 'happy' and 'smiling'.
Senior coroner, Professor Paul Marks, said he was content Grace did intend to take her own life and concluded her death was 'suicide'. He said: "I am satisfied Grace's actions were such that she intended to take her own life. She was out in the small hours and had previously made comments about jumping from the bridge. While I cannot completely rule out alcohol affecting her judgement, the levels in her system were comparatively modest."
