Girl, 16, found on bedroom floor with deodorant can and now mum warns of 'chroming'

A teenage girl who was found dead on her bedroom floor holding a bottle of deodorant is believed to have died from sniffing aerosol fumes. Brook Ryan was found by her mother Anne at their home in New South Wales, Australia, on February 3.

The 16-year-old was found lying face down with the can and a tea towel underneath her. The aspiring athlete who was about to start Year 11, died of a suspected heart attack in a deadly activity known as 'chroming'.

An Australian teacher previously called for tighter restrictions on the sale of deodorant cans amid the 'dangerous trend', reports the Mirror. Anne Ryan spoke out about her daughter's death on Mother's Day to warn other parents about the dangers of inhalant abuse.
