A schoolgirl was rushed to hospital after she was struck by a car and "thrown into the air" while crossing the road. Emergency services were called to Poulton Road in Wallasey at roughly 5.25pm on Sunday, October 2 after two 12-year-old girls were hit by a Honda V-Tec.
Police sealed off the road in both directions and asked the public to avoid the area while officers and paramedics worked at the scene, the Liverpool Echo reports. The youngsters are believed to have been with a groups of friends at the time of the incident near the junction with Eastcroft Road.
Merseyside Police said the driver is cooperating fully with officers and assisting with enquiries. The two victims were reportedly taken in separate ambulances to Alder Hey Children's Hospital. Their condition and possible injuries are not known.
