Mark Hateley has questioned whether Rangers have the resources to make a big decision on Giovanni van Bronckhorst if one was required.
The Dutchman is beginning to come under scrutiny for his recruitment after back-to-back 4-0 losses against Celtic in the Premiership and their Champions League Group A opener at Ajax. A major league match away at Aberdeen now awaits Van Bronckhorst and his team after a bruising week, but already there's questions being asked of him.
BBC Scotland's Tom English was analysing the match on Sportsound and surmised that a negative result at Aberdeen on Saturday would lead to big questions mark over the Rangers manager, although stopped short of saying they will get rid of him, with Hateley adding during halfway through his address: "It's a big question that one at this stage in the season, especially when you're saying the board haven't got money to spend. Can they afford to sack him? That's the next question, or do they just let this play out?"

Former Light Blues striker Steven Thompson forward wasn't as keen in jumping into such discussion, saying: "I think you need to take things into perspective a little bit.
"The performance on Saturday was extraordinarily disappointing from Rangers, blown away by their biggest rivals. But we saw that last season.
"Against Ajax, it's a wake-up call. It would be a bit premature in my book. You hear managers here and there having a wee nibble but he has been very clear in being happy with his squad.
"There isn't as strong a backline and goalkeeper as was there last season. I definitely feel there should be another striker at the club. There's big question marks over the recruitment but it's premature (to talk about manager's future)."
