Giovanni van Bronckhorst delighted with ruthless Rangers in win over Ross County

Antonio Colak

GIOVANNI VAN BRONCKHORST hailed his ruthless Rangers after 4-0 win over Ross County got their Premiership title bid back on track.

Champions League hero Antonio Colak netted a brace at Ibrox and John Lundstram and Steven Davis were also on target in a comprehensive victory.

Van Bronckhorst opted to make just one change to his starting line-up from the triumph over PSV Eindhoven as Scott Wright replaced the injured Glen Kamara in a forward-thinking side.

And that attacking intent paid dividends for the Light Blues as they bounced back from the controversial draw with Hibernian on their return to Premiership action.

The visit of Queen of the South is next up on Tuesday night and the League Cup clash offers Van Bronckhorst the chance to mix and match his line-up ahead of a hugely significant run of games at home and abroad.

Van Bronckhorst said: “That was the intent you have to show from the start. It was a great result on Wednesday. We were on a high and very positive because we’re playing in the Champions League. “But we had to switch back to the domestic league and it’s always about the start and keeping the same standards and way of playing every game. “The games are coming fast but when you start like this you will never drop your levels of intensity and passing and movement.

“We reached a really high level today. I was really pleased with the performance and clean sheet and the goals we scored were a really high level so I’m very pleased. “We have a squad we can rotate but we are playing a lot of games. On Tuesday we have a home game against Queen of the South so we have to keep going and playing.

“That’s why I picked the team as it was today. They have to play and get stronger physically and the team has to develop as well so on Tuesday you will see more rotation.”
