Gio van Bronckhorst has hailed the Rangers substituties for changing the game in the narrow win over Aberdeen.
The Dutchman had been criticised for not looking to his bench in recent weeks, but brought on John Lundstram, Leon Balogun and Kemar Roofe against the Dons.
Roofe would go on to tap in the winner to ramp the pressure up on league leaders Celtic ahead of their clash with Livingston.
Van Bronckhorst told Rangers TV following the game: "They gave us a big challenge, which we know we always get against Aberdeen.
"I think second half we were much better and played wth a much higher tempo. We played forward, and I think that was the big difference with the first half.
"We created chances to win the game, and didn't get any big chances against us defensively which is really good.
"In the end I was really happy with the 1-0.
"We always work hard but in moments of the game today we reacted well, especially in the second half.
"We won the second balls, we had the high tempo. We were just waiting for the goal, like we were in many games before this one.
"Now we scored a very important goal. "
He added on the changes: "I think we needed the changes and I think they impacted really well. They brought energy and character into the team, and that was what we needed at the moment.
"We are really happy with the subs we put in.
"It's been very busy weeks, it has cost a lot of energy.
"We have time to get a bit of a rest and we prepare for Red Star. We will get a good rest and prepare for Thursday."
