Gini Wijnaldum's frustrations continue after the Paris Saint Germain midfielder was named Ligue 1 'Flop of the Year' following his move form Liverpool on a free transfer in the summer of 2021.
Liverpool and the Dutchman couldn't come to agreement on a new deal and it soon became clear Wijnaldum would be departing Anfield to take on a new challenge. It looked as though Barcelona were initially his destination of choice, but PSG soon captured his signature.
With over 100,000 votes combined with the input of an expert panel, Wijnaldum was named the biggest 'flop' by Get French Football News.

Wijnaldum was a hugely vital cog in a Liverpool midfield that won the Champions League and Premier League and he will always be remembered fondly for his two goals in the heroic win over Barcelona in the semi-final at Anfield.
The 31-year-old was left out of the most recent Holland squad due to his lack of playing time having not completed a full 90 minutes in over two months for the French champions. Wijnaldum started 22 of out 38 Ligue 1 matches.
Wijnaldum was even linked with a return to the Premier League in the January transfer window, but a move didn't materialise. With Mauricio Pochettino set to leave his role as PSG boss, it remains to be seen what could come next for the former Liverpool midfielder.
