Gigi Hadid wears full face of Maybelline makeup to Met Gala including new Superstay Vinyl Ink Lipstick

If you weren’t already aware, this weekend was one of the biggest events in fashion - the Met Gala. Hollywood stars were out in full force, and even though their gowns might cost more than the homes we live in - Gigi Hadid wore a full face of affordable makeup!

Yes Maybelline New York Global Brand Ambassador, Erin Parsons gave us the low-down on how she created Gigi Hadid’s makeup look - featuring the brand-new Maybelline Superstay Vinyl Ink Lipstick, which costs just £11.99 at Boots.

Erin was inspired by Hadid’s high-gloss vinyl outfit, focusing the makeup primarily on a bright ombre two-toned lip, while keeping the skin “mostly natural with some shading for very soft makeup with a standout glossy red lip.”

She went on to say that “we really wanted to keep her clean, fresh glowing skin, as a nod to the gilded glamour of back in the day when they would only use cheek rouge and red lipstick. Of course, we had to add some dramatic gloss for a modern touch.”

Erin used the Color Sensational Shaping Lipliner in 153 Divine Wine (£3.99) to line the lips. Super Stay Vinyl Ink Liquid Lipcolor in Wicked (£11.99) was then applied on the outer points of the lips followed by SuperStay Vinyl Ink Liquid Lipcolor in Red-Hot (£11.99) on the center. Much like Hadid's outfit, the lip look was shiny, luxurious, and budge-resistant with up to 16-hour wear that’s perfect for the red carpet!

As for her face, Gigi wore SuperStay Longwear Liquid Foundation in 105 Fair Ivory (£9.99) paired with SuperStay Active Wear Concealer (£9.99) in 11 on top. Following, Erin set everything with the Lasting Fix Banana Setting Powder.

As for the cheeks, Cheek Heat Gel-Cream Blush in Fuchsia Spark (£8.99) was added for a flushed finish, with minimal contour - as Gigi really loved the idea of fresh skin with lots of blush. Erin then added Master Strobing Stick Illuminating Highlighter in Light Iridescent 100 to the high points of Hadid’s face to add shine.

The Fit Me Matte and Poreless Pressed Powder (£6.99) in 120 was used to touch up Gigi’s face before she hit the red carpet.

For Gigi’s eyes, Erin used just a touch of the shade Heroine from the Nudes of New York Eyeshadow Palette (£12.99) in the crease and under the eye to give a soft, clean look.

For eyeliner, Parsons used the shade Self-Starter from the Nudes of New York Eyeshadow Palette with a brush to define the eye. Parsons then swept Hadid’s lashes with Falsies Lash Lift Mascara (£10.99) in Brownish Black.

Brows were kept clean and neat using the Tattoo Studio Brow Lift Stick in Clear (£9.99) to lift and set them in place, without filling in.

From the products we were able to find, the total cost for Gigi’s look was a mere £97.90! A bargain compared to some of the products used on other celebs!

The Met Gala is often referred to as “fashion’s biggest night out,” in New York. The Met Gala is a fundraising event for the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City.
