The New York Giants (5-8) will take on the New Orleans Saints (6-7) this Sunday afternoon at Caesars Superdome in their 14th game of the 2023 regular season.
Opening the week, the Giants were 5-point road underdogs and the spread has gotten slightly worse since then with New York at +5.5 as of this writing.
How does the Giants Wire staff see this Week 15 battle shaking out? Here’s a look at our picks and score predictions:
Dan Benton: Giants 23, Saints 16
The Giants are far from a juggernaut but Vegas is off base with this one. New York has won three straight behind QB Tommy DeVito and their offense is beginning to find a rhythm. Their defense has also been dominant, forcing 11 turnovers over their past four games. Meanwhile, the Saints have gone 1-3 over the past four games and QB Derek Carr is dealing with a multitude of injuries. Their locker room is on the brink of a mutiny and they’re more likely to fight each other than put up a fight against the G-Men.
John Fennelly: Saints 23, Giants 21
The ride ends here for the Giants’ winning streak and playoff chances as the Superdome proves to be too much for rookie quarterback Tommy DeVito & Co. Expect a competitive game but stealing this one down in the Big Easy is a big ask.
Tyler Henry: Giants 20, Saints 17
The Giants are coming in with confidence feeding off a win against a Packers team that is the best team they have beaten all season.
I don’t really know how to judge the Giants during the Tommy DeVito era but I do know the fans are having fun and the players are having fun around it. Winning does that to a team.
DeVito’s improvement each week has been glaring.
The Giants will need to win the turnover battle and protect the ball if they want to keep their momentum going. I see the winning streak continuing on Sunday, at least for one more week.
Kevin Hickey: Giants 17, Saints 16
We’re going to ride this train until the brakes stop working. The legend of Tommy DeVito grows stronger each week, and he’s coming off an impressive outing against pressure, which is something we hadn’t seen from him before. The Saints are a team trending in the wrong direction having lost three of their last four while the Giants have shown plenty of life on both sides of the ball. They squeak out a road win thanks to a fourth-quarter interception from Deonte Banks.
Jeevan Kirkland: Saints 17, Giants 14
The Saints have had a roller-coaster season this year with Derek Carr at the helm. He has been an underwhelming addition to a talented offense featuring Alvin Kamara, Chris Olave, and Taysom Hill (all talented playmakers). Carr has held this offense back and could do it again on Sunday against a Giants defense that has performed much better recently.
However, it is too early to predict a Giants win at this juncture with a rookie undrafted quarterback and the outcomes of various other games this season. Expect this one to be close but the Giants’ special teams problems (especially Randy Bullock) could cost them.
Serena Burks: Giants 28, Saints 24
The Giants and Saints are an interesting matchup — both teams have struggled this season for various reasons.
The Saints won a division game last week, but the Giants have won three in a row now. They’re on the road, but with the way the team rallied against the Packers on Monday, they are full of pride and momentum. The team is finally starting to gel and look like a cohesive unit.
The Saints offer some tough matchups in Kamara, Olave, and Saheed, but the Giants are ready.
I’m excited to see what they do on the road this week and I think DeVito has what it takes to lead this team to another victory.
