During a 13-10 overtime loss to the New York Jets in Week 8, New York Giants quarterback Tyrod Taylor suffered a severe rib injury. It landed him in a local hospital and he was forced to remain overnight.
Days later, the Giants placed Taylor on injured reserve (IR), meaning he would miss four games at a minimum.
Head coach Brian Daboll has refused to say whether or not Taylor would miss the remainder of the season but while speaking with reporters on Thursday, the veteran quarterback said he expects to return at some point this year.
QB Tyrod Taylor said he’s feeling good. On his ribs injury: “Not season ending in my mind.”
Taylor was placed on injured reserve last week. Eligible to return after the bye week against the Green Bay Packers.

Taylor added that no one has informed him that his season is over, but no one has said for certain that he’ll be back, either.
Although he may feel that a return to the field is possible following the Week 13 bye, there’s no guarantee the Giants feel similarly about Taylor. They could still opt to shelve him for the remainder of this season as both a precaution and as a potential tanking mechanism.
Following a season-ending torn ACL to starter Daniel Jones, the Giants are down to Tommy DeVito, Matt Barkley, and Jacob Eason (practice squad) at the quarterback position.
