The New York Giants are bringing back veteran running back Matt Breida on a one-year deal.
Breida played in all 17 games last season, starting one, gaining 220 yards on 54 attempts on the ground and catching 20 passes for 188 yards.
He is a solid veteran backup who is familiar with the Giants’ system that will serve as a backup to starter Saquon Barkley, who the Giants placed the franchise tag on last week.
Breida is also a valuable special teamer, playing on 37.7 percent of special team snaps last season.
The team officially announced that Breida re-signed on Tuesday.
