The 2023 season was a roller coaster for the New York Giants.
The offseason saw hope surround the team for the first time in a long time. And then that dreadful season opener against Dallas shattered all of that hope. It was mostly downhill from there, both on and off the field.
It wasn’t all bad, though. One of the bright spots was the evolution of linebacker Kayvon Thibodeaux. That development caught the attention of others, too, and now Thibs has been ranked No. 22 on Bleacher Report’s top 25 players under age 25.
22. New York Giants EDGE Kayvon Thibodeaux (23)
The 2022 No. 5 overall pick has yet to fully arrive, but he still posted 11.5 sacks and forced three fumbles as a sophomore.
Thibodeaux also recorded 50 tackles (26 solo), one fumble recovery, four passes defensed and 7.5 stuffs. His sophomore season gave the NFL a glimpse of what the future holds for Thibodeaux, and he hasn’t reached his peak yet.
The Giants will rely on Thibodeaux a lot this season. With an incredibly youthful secondary, the linebackers will have a heavier responsibility assisting them.
Thibs’ evolution on the field will continue this year. As an already exciting player to watch, the anticipation of what he does next will have everyone on the edge of their seats this fall.
