On Thursday night, HBO’s “Hard Knocks: Training Camp with the Chicago Bears” aired the series finale and in it, New York Giants general manager Joe Schoen made a cameo appearance.
Cameras caught Schoen chatting it up with Bears general manager Ryan Poles ahead of this past Sunday’s game between Clemson and Georgia. Schoen was in attendance on a scouting trip.

“Gotta be nice,” Schoen began, “not to be looking at the, uh …”
“Quarterbacks?” Poles said, finishing Schoen’s thought.
Both general managers chuckled at Schoen biting his tongue.
“Hopefully it stays that way for a long time,” Poles said.
Schoen was clearly in attendance to get a closer look at Georgia’s Carson Beck with preparations for the 2025 NFL draft already underway. It also highlights the uncertainty surrounding Giants quarterback Daniel Jones, who is returning in 2024 after suffering a serious neck injury and torn ACL a season ago.
The Giants still don’t know if he’s their quarterback of the future and actively tried to trade up in the 2024 NFL draft, presumably for Drake Maye, who went to the New England Patriots at No. 3 overall.
Jones has an “out” in his contract following the regular season and should he struggle and the Giants fail once again, it’s a near certainty the team moves on.
Beck is one of several quarterbacks already linked to the Giants and is widely viewed as the top player in the projected class.
