New York Giants center Jon Feliciano did not practice on Friday after suffering “heat and hydration” issues during Thursday’s practice.
“He is okay,” said head coach Brian Daboll before Friday’s practice. “I’ll tell you, there were a couple guys. We’ll probably have a few guys down today relative to heat and hydration and just to be smart on that end, but he’s good. It was Felice. Jon Feliciano.”
Feliciano may have been okay, but the Giants’ offense was not. They don’t have much of backup plan at center.
We’re done. Let’s just say it was a rough day for Daniel Jones and the #Giants offense. Defense won the day. Dexter Lawrence spent the practice in the backfield. C Jon Feliciano was missed.

There's a reason why I had Jon Feliciano in my Top 12 #Giants Countdown and we saw that in today's practice.
Feliciano sat out due to heat exhaustion yesterday + backups Jamil Douglas and Ben Bredeson had their hands full, especially on a blitz day focused on third-and-longs.

Jamil Douglas and Ben Bredeson are not natural centers. Both are guards and both could be on the roster bubble come the end of August. And each were guilty of sailing snaps leading on Friday.
The Giants are still hopeful Nick Gates, who suffered a devastating leg fracture last year, continues on his trajectory and recovers in full. But that is a big ask. Big Blue is going to have to address this glaring need before the season starts.
