According to the NFL reporter Aaron Wilson, the New York Giants have claimed former Pittsburgh Steelers cornerback Justin Layne off of waivers. Layne was waived on Tuesday in the Steelers final round of cuts to get to their 53-man roster.

Layne got beat out by James Pierre for the team’s final cornerback spot on the roster. Layne was the Steelers third-round draft pick in 2019 out of Michigan State. He showed promised coming out of college but could never find a good fit in the Steelers defensive system.
