MLB’s worst umpire, Ángel Hernández, was back behind the plate Sunday doing his thing - missing a lot obvious calls while driving both teams and their fans crazy with his inability to locate the strike zone.
In case you missed it, Hernández missed over 20 calls in the Giants-Braves series finale. The veteran umpire, who recently returned to work after a missing most of the beginning of the season, had both television booths marveling at home bad he was at his job Sunday in Atlanta.
These guys didn’t even try to hide their frustrations with Hernández and the job he was doing behind home plate.
This subtle shot by Braves play-by-play announcer Brandon Gaudinvwas pretty great:
"As Fried fires a strike near the outside corner..." 🤣🔊

So was this one after a questionable strikeout:

The Giants’ booth was totally confused by Hernández’s strikeout motion:
@MLB just keeps on watching this type of stuff and does nothing. https://t.co/9RuXg78vRq

There are even more bewildered reactions in this highlight reel of bad calls:
And MLB does nothing about it. https://t.co/6vB88aO7oY

MLB really needs to figure out what to do with such a bad umpire.
