Giant Toblerone bar debated by chocolate fans who 'can't justify' £50 treat

Toblerone fans have been left absolutely baffled by the cost of one of its giant chocolate bars that comes with a matching price tag.

The fan favourite Swiss chocolate brand has gained a legion of fans thanks to its milky smooth taste and distinctive chocolate 'peaks' that have made it a popular gift to be popped into Christmas stockings.

Usually, many of us don't mind paying the £2-£3 price-tag that it comes with, but it looks like shoppers are drawing a line after they found out about one epic-sized bar that would set them back almost £50.

Foodie group Newfoodsuk took its Facebook page to share that Costco is stocking a 4.5kg Giant Toblerone that comes to £49.99 exactly.

With prices still soaring due to the current cost of living crisis, it is understandable why so many shoppers were a little perplexed at how much they would have to spend.

"Hahaha £50 for a bar of chocolate….I’d rather put my heating on! Hahaha", joked one shopper.

"People have more money the sense if they buy this x", commented a second.

"OMG but even my love of Toblerone can't justify", replied a third.

"My favourite but wouldn’t pay that much lol I’ll stick to the smaller version lol xx", agreed a fourth.

Other shoppers were a little more concerned with how they were supposed to consume the chocolate bar, with many saying that they have trouble enough with the smaller bars.

"Blooming eck...I have enough trouble breaking off the regular size triangles...does it come with a hacksaw?", quipped one.

"Can't even imagine trying to bite those pieces, the little ones are hard enough", replied a second.

Despite the concern over the price and the ability to actually eat the mammoth sized chocolate bar, there were quite a few who would quite happily part with their money for it.

"I’m so getting that", responded one enthusiastic shopper.
