West Ham forward Gianluca Scamacca celebrated the club’s Europa Conference League win on social media.
The Italian forward played no part in the final win over Fiorentina having undergone knee surgery in April.
Teammate Michail Antonio hit headlines recently for suggesting the forward was not enough of a “fighter” to succeed under manager David Moyes.
Ultimately, it was fellow forward Jarrod Bowen who secured the club’s most famous night in modern history with a late goal to win the showpiece final during the dying embers of the game inside the Eden Arena.
Said Benrahma had given the Hammers the lead after converting a penalty Bowen had won before Giacomo Bonaventura levelled the scores five minutes later.
Bowen, however, would strike in the last minute to end West Ham’s 43-year long wait for a major trophy in the most dramatic of circumstances in the Czech capital.
Scamacca, responding to a tweet from the club’s official Twitter account, wrote: “West Ham is massive.”
Moyes hailed his squad as “remarkable” after the win and admitted it was the crowning moment of his storied managerial career.
