GHAZIABAD: The family of an autistic boy was allegedly locked up in their flat in a housing society in Indirapuram last Saturday by an 80-year-old neighbour, who was irritated with the nine-year-old randomly ringing doorbells, pressing elevator buttons and throwing doormats and shoes kept outside flats.
In a series of tweets, the boy’s father Swapnil Narendra accused the neighbour and a few other residents of Nirala Eden Park of being “insensitive”. He said it was “unfair” to keep the child confined to their flat the whole day and there were times he went to the corridor, which Swapnil said is the boy’s “only play area” as he fears going to the park to play with other kids.
