Gerry Cinnamon announces new recordings from historic Hampden Park gigs and reveals next album 'cooking'

Gerry Cinnamon has revealed that he is currently in the studio recording his third album, which will be out later this year.

Until then fans can relive how he closed his Hampden Park shows in Glagsow last year, as he is releasing a double album, a stunning celebration of those historic gigs which took place in the singer's hometown.

The live album ‘Live at Hampden Park’ includes ‘Dark Days’, ‘Sun Queen’, ‘Ghost’, ‘Where We’re Going’ and platinum-certified singles ‘Sometimes’ and ‘Belter’.

It also features the first flavour of new music, with previously unreleased track ‘Sacred’, a stunning tribute to his hero Billy Connolly with his own rendition of ‘I Wish I Was in Glasgow’, and fan favourite ‘Discoland’.

Speaking about it, Gerry said: “Live album out July. Bout time I put out a live album. The tunes aren’t complete until they’re sung live. Crowd are part of the band. Been meaning to do it for years but been caught up in a wee whirlwind. Had to be done for Hampden tho. Album three cooking in the pot as well.”

Having organically built up a huge following over the past five years, Gerry has become the UK’s biggest independent artists.

Last year, the Castlemilk-born star played two nights at Scotland's national stadium, which organisers hailed as one of the biggest shows for a Scots artist in years.

Gerry thanked his fans for waiting out the gig following a delay of two years due to the coronavirus pandemic. He said: "Unbelievable gig. Unbelievable atmosphere. Three year in the making. Folk there from the four corners of the world. Cheers everybody. Been there since day 1. Means the world. Love yous."
