Alfred Plath has established a museum in Germany dedicated to the plastic toys produced at Model Toys factory in Torbothie, Shotts which employed more than 1000 people between 1964 and 1980 when the factory closed.
He has visited Scotland a number of times over the years along with visits to Manchester and London, and travelled to toy fairs in Sweden, the Netherlands, Austria, Switzerland and many parts of Germany in his quest to find toys for his museum.

Meantime he is appealing to anyone who may have some Timpo toys to contact him with a view to purchasing these for his museum.
He is looking for figures of cowboys, Indians and soldiers, and coaches, trains, forts and castles.
He is also interested in pictures, letters and articles pertaining to the Torbothie factory.
He will pay for all items that are in good condition and will also consider purchase of broken toys.
Alfred told Lanarkshire Live : “Because of the brittleness of the plastic, after 30 years, the museum loses many parts every day, so sometimes even a broken toy can provide a part to restore other toys.
“I will pay all expenses.”
