Leeds United have already seen three young players leave Elland Road on loan during the January transfer window, and are reluctant to permit another exit, this time for Crysencio Summerville.
Ryan Edmondson, Cody Drameh and Josh Galloway have all departed Leeds on loan deals until the end of the season, although Drameh is the sole member of that trio to have already made a senior appearance this year.
Dutch winger Crysencio Summerville has been attracting interest from several clubs, LeedsLive understands, including those on the continent.
One suitor is 2. Bundesliga side Hamburger SV. The German club are interested in bringing Summerville to the HSV Arena on loan this month, but have been met by a Leeds United roadblock of sorts.
Leeds are standing firm in the face of interest from abroad, keen to retain the Netherlands U21 forward as one of Marcelo Bielsa's four wide attacking options alongside Raphinha, Jack Harrison and Daniel James.
Despite Summerville's involvement in the first-team this season, the 20-year-old has only featured for 225 minutes across three competitions.
With Leeds eliminated from both domestic cups as well as the form of Jack Harrison and Raphinha, opportunities appear scarce in the second half of the 2021/22 campaign.
That said, under no circumstances will Leeds allow the young winger signed from Feyenoord to leave on a permanent deal, as has been rumoured, although talks over a loan exit remain ongoing between the club and the player's representatives.
Summerville is highly-regarded at Elland Road, both by supporters and those within the club. His performances for the U23 side have alerted several potential suitors, including HSV, who in recent times have added Tommy Doyle and Xavier Amaechi to their ranks, both players who impressed in Premier League 2 with Manchester City and Arsenal respectively.
In Germany, HSV winger Faride Alidou is expected to leave the second tier German club in the summer when his contract expires.
Leeds United indicate that despite receiving approaches for Summerville, their stance on another player leaving the club this window is that it is unlikely.
