Gerard Butler has hailed Darius Campbell Danesh as 'the perfect friend' with the 'heart of a lion' in an emotional, online tribute.

Glasgow Live previously reported that Pop Idol legend Darius was found dead at home on August 11. The 41-year-old from Bearsden, East Dunbartonshire was a 'dear friend' with Hollywood star Gerard, reports the Mirror.

The 'devastated' actor, from Elderslie, Renfrewshire, took to social media on Friday to pay tribute to Darius whose heart he said was 'bigger and brighter than the sun'.
