Georgia co-defensive coordinator Glenn Schumann will remain with Georgia football after interviewing with the Philadelphia Eagles for their vacant defensive coordinator last week, according to a report from ESPN.
Buy Bulldogs TicketsGlenn Schumann, after interviewing for the Philadelphia Eagles’ DC job, is returning to @GeorgiaFootball, sources tell ESPN. That’s big news for the Dawgs. Schumann was co-DC and called plays last year for two-time defending champs. Georgia had already lost OC Todd Monken to NFL.

Schumann, who also coaches inside linebackers, will return along side co-defensive coordinator Will Muschamp for the pair’s second season calling the Georgia defense.
The NFL has taken notice of the Bulldogs recent success after back-to-back national titles.
The Baltimore Ravens recently hired former offensive coordinator Todd Monken in the same capacity after three seasons in Athens.
It seems that it will be only a matter of time before Schumann takes the next step. The former Alabama assistant is one of two remaining original assistant coaches who were hired by head coach Kirby Smart when he began his tenure at Georgia in 2016. The other is running backs coach Dell McGee.
