Georgia Harrison reveals how she made Prince William 'crack up' laughing at MBE ceremony

Georgia Harrison has shared how she made Prince William “really laugh” when he awarded her MBE.

The former Love Island star was honoured with an MBE at Windsor Castle in October for her advocacy work for women’s safety after her harrowing experience as a victim of revenge pornography.

The 30-year-old, whose ex Stephen Bear leaked a secretly filmed intimate video of her, has been tireless in raising awareness about cyber crime and combating online privacy violation.

During an appearance on Loose Women on Friday, the former TOWIE star recalled the “once in a lifetime moment” she met William, 43, as he presented her with an MBE medal.

"It was surreal,” she said on the ITV morning show.

"You don't find out until the day it's going to be Prince William and I was so excited because I thought I can say one day to Sahara [her daughter] 'you were there and you met the King' because he'll probably be the King when she's older'.”

Harrison - who welcomed Sahara with her partner Jack Stacey in October - went on: "First of all, you really notice his presence. He's such a powerful person.

"They talk you though how you approach him and how to curtsey, which I may have got a little bit wrong, but when I got there he basically said he's seen everything I've experienced at the time and he had seen it on the news and he thought I was really, really brave and the work that I had done was so important.

"He asked what else I thought needed to change to help protect women online and protect children of the future and I got to speak to him about things which I believe will help shape the world Sahara is eventually going to live in.

“It was a once in a lifetime moment and it's the biggest honour of my life so far, apart from having Sahara.”

Harrison then shared the moment she made the Prince of Wales “crack up” laughing.

“When I curtsied, I went like that,” she explained and mimed doing a dramatic curtsy with an extravagant flourish of her arms.

“Did you do a panto curtsey?” co-host Nadia Sawalha, 61, asked, laughing.

Harrison went on, grinning: “I almost fell over and the Prince actually cracked up and he was really laughing.

“It was a fun moment and he probably won't forget it.”

She joked: “He'll be like, ‘Don't bring a Love Islander in here again'."

In 2021, Harrison waived her right to anonymity amid a trial that saw her ex-partner, Stephen Bear, accused of sharing a secretly recorded sex tape of her to adult content website OnlyFans.

Bear, also a reality TV star, was sentenced to 21 months in prison after being found guilty of voyeurism and two counts of disclosing private sexual photographs and films with intent to cause distress.

He served 10-and-a-half months of the sentence.

In April 2023, a month after Bear was sentenced, Harrison attended a demonstration, held outside Parliament by domestic violence charity Refuge, calling for specific protections for women and girls to be included in the Online Safety Bill.

She also called for social media platforms to be “held accountable” for online harassment and abuse, and criticised the justice system for failing to “keep up”.

Later that year, she discussed the Bill in a Downing Street meeting with former technology secretary Michelle Donelan as it returned to the Commons for its final stages.

In 2024, she helped police launch a campaign about sexual consent titled Consent Conversations.

Harrison explored the rise of deepfakes and image-based sexual abuse in an ITV documentary titled Georgia Harrison: Porn, Power, Profit, which was released earlier in the year.

As well as Love Island, Harrison has taken part in reality TV shows including Celebrity Ex On The Beach and Channel 4 reality show Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins, which she won with boxer Lani Daniels.
