A special performance of A Christmas Carol is coming to the Glasgow Fair at George Square this week, with free entry for all.
Touring theatre company Folksy Theatre are bringing their production to the city on Thursday, having recreated the festive classic with live music, puppetry and multimedia. The ‘magical’ production is hitting multiple cities across the UK throughout December.
Buskers, community groups and dancers will be performing at the stage in George Square over the coming week. On December 22, from 6pm until 8pm, you can watch A Christmas Carol completely free.

The reimagined tale tells the story of mean old Scrooge, who loathes Christmas before he’s taken on a journey by three spirits. He’s shown his past, present and future before changing his ways and embracing the Christmas spirit.
A spokesperson for the Glasgow Fair at George Square said: “Christmas wouldn’t be the same without the story of Scrooge.
“We are delighted to present this free performance by Folksy Theatre, who put on a terrific show.”
Also housed at George Square is the open air ice rink, observation wheel, helter skelter, flying chairs and photo opportunities with Santa and his buddies. Find out more about what's on here.
