George Pickens Injury: Steelers WR Likely Out Vs. Eagles

Pittsburgh’s George Pickens is dealing with a hamstring injury. Will the Steelers wide receiver miss Sunday’s game against the Philadelphia Eagles?

George Pickens Likely Out In Week 15

The Steelers (10-3) will likely be without Pickens on Sunday. Head coach Mike Tomlin said Pickens is “doubtful” to play against the Eagles, though he did not rule it out.

“We’re just in the mindset now of just getting him healthy as quickly as we possibly can,” Tomlin said via ESPN. “There’s a potential for this week, but it’s an outside chance. If you press me, I’d probably say he’s out or could be characterized as doubtful as we sit here, but again, like we always do, we’ll go through the normal procedure, we’ll let participation be our guide in terms of availability and then obviously the quality of that participation.”

Per ESPN, Pickens has a Grade 2 hamstring strain.

Pickens sat out Week 14’s 27-14 win over the Cleveland Browns.

Pittsburgh Options At WR

With Pickens out, who will Russell Wilson turn to at wide receiver?

Mike Williams, Van Jefferson, and Scotty Miller will be the top targets on the outside if Pickens can’t play. Tight end Pat Freiermuth led all Steelers pass-catchers in Week 14 with three catches for 48 yards and one touchdown.

Pickens leads the Steelers with 55 receptions on 90 targets for 850 receiving yards and three touchdowns.

The Steelers begin a crucial stretch with three games in 11 days. The Steelers play the Eagles in Week 14, the Ravens on Saturday, Dec. 21, and the Chiefs on Wednesday, Dec. 25.
