George Ezra has explained why he was 'forced' to change a song lyric for his performance at the Platinum Party at the Palace, after his fans were left puzzled by the performance.
Shotgun and Paradise singer George was one of the 'newer' acts on the bill for the huge concert in honour of the Queen's Jubilee in front of Buckingham Palace, joining the likes of Sam Ryder, Mimi Webb and Jax Jones, while music legends like Diana Ross, Rod Stewart and Alicia Keys were also on the bill, as well as the cast of a string of hit musicals.
The concert was attended by 10,000 lucky people who managed to obtain tickets through a ballot, while a massive TV audience watched at home. And those familiar with the words to George's recent smash were confused when the lyric '‘You’d better throw a party on the day that I die,' was dropped.

The change prompted a wealth of speculation from fans online and, appearing on Wednesday's Good Morning Britain, George was frank about the reason why.
Speaking to hosts Susanna Reid and Richard Madeley, he said: "As you can imagine, when you’re playing for the Royal family, if they say jump, you jump! You don’t question it.”
He went on to reveal that it was the Royal family’s suggestion that the lyric was left out, defiantly adding: “It certainly wasn’t mine!”
He continued: “My take on it was that it was going to make it more obvious to change it and the thing is, it kind of turned out that way. It’s the thing I get asked about a lot now… I wasn’t going to fight back, was I?”
“For me the song is a celebration of life… I would never see it as a funeral manifesto.”
Other stars on the bill for the Platinum at the Party extravaganza included Craig David, Celeste, Ella Eyre and show openers Queen & Adam Lambert.
