Geordie Shore viewers' hearts went out to Ant Kennedy on Tuesday night when the Gateshead reality TV star revealed the full extent of his injuries after being attacked in Ibiza over the summer, with the incident leaving him at 'rock bottom.'
It was back in April that Ant and a few of the other Geordie Shore cast headed off to the Balearics for a quick break but what was meant to be a fun break away quickly took a turn. Taking to Instagram the morning after his first night on the White Isle, Ant posted a selfie of himself in hospital with a severely swollen jaw and wrote: "He captioned the shot: "First night in Ibiza. Broken jaw in two places, needing surgery. Think I will be going home now thanks."
Ant then returned to Instagram to explain that he'd been hit by "a lad then another lad," whilst out, leaving him with not just a double fracture, as originally first thought, but a triple fracture. Posting on social media few days later and, in too much pain to talk, Ant elaborated on what happened, writing: "I was attacked by a man and his friend in Lineker sports bar in San Antonio Ibiza! Shout out to the manager there he was super helpful. This was an completely unprovoked attack I was simply dancing on a night out enjoying the first night of my holiday. So anyone asking if I have been fighting the answer is no, no I wasn’t fighting, I was brutally attacked!"

Ant's injuries meant he was ruled out of heading to Portugal to film for the Geordie Shore reunion, but he was seen on screen as the new series continued on MTV this week. Ant looked severely in pain and really downcast as he joined co-star and friend Louis Shaw to shoot scenes on the Quayside in Newcastle, before Louis jetted off.
And, catching sight of Ant's swollen face on screen, fans watching at home were left in shock, as he struggled to speak. Greeting Louis, Ant mumbled: "Don't make us laugh, 'cos it really hurts." He then explained to Louis that he'd needed to have "two plates put in," adding: "They see I need to have my mouth shut for eight weeks."
Louis told him: "You just don't expect to go on holiday and for that to happen,2 with Ant replying: "No, it's a bit of a s**t sandwich," before adding that he was really upset that other than Louis and co-star Abbie Holborn, none of the other Geordie Shore cast had made the effort to come and see him after the attack.
Ant was flooded with support after the episode aired. While the show played out on Tuesday night, one took to Twitter to post: Ant had me in literal tears bless him so much, hope he’s recovering well now. Such a shame no one asked if he was alright and checked in. Hope he doesn’t give any of them the time of day." A second reacted: "Oh god. Poor Ant."
Ant took to Instagram on Wednesday night to reveal he' hadn't watched the episode, admitting: "I hit rock bottom on that bench if I'm honest and It was a tough time in my life," before going onto thank fans and Louis for all his support.
