Geordie Shore reunion confirmed with cast holiday, wedding and return to show's famous party house

After plans for the show's tenth birthday were thwarted by the coronavirus pandemic, it has been confirmed that Geordie Shore is getting a reunion series, with a group holiday, long-awaited wedding and return to the show's famous house.

It's now been 11 years since the Newcastle-based show made its explosive debut on screen, with its launch episode sparking outcry from local politicians on Tyneside, with the original cast, including Vicky Pattison, Gaz Beadle and Charlotte Crosby, quickly enthralled millions of viewers, who couldn't get enough of their wild antics. Since then, the show has bucked the trend of other MTV shows, including Welsh version The Valleys, by having lasting appeal and proving popular across the world in countries like Australia.

Last year it was reported that MTV bosses wanted to take cast members past and present to Colombia to shoot some reunion specials, but the ongoing pandemic threw a major spanner in the works. However, now four of the show's biggest stars - Charlotte Crosby,. Holly Hagan, Sophie Kasaei and Marnie Simpson are making it their mission to get Geordie Shore cast members back together

Teasing the 'ultimate Geordie Shore throwback,' Charlotte, who announced she was pregnant last week, said: “I always said I would be up for taking part in a reunion show and made no secret that Geordie Shore holds a special place in my heart. I’m very excited to reconnect and reminisce with my favourite people and life-long friends.”

Fellow Geordie Shore original Holly commented; “I’m super-excited to be back filming with everyone from over the years. It’s going to be something really special to have everyone in the same room together!”

According to MTV, the The Geordie Shore reunion series, as well as featuring a cast holiday abroad, a wedding and a much needed return to the Geordie Shore house, will see the arrival of Marnie's second child, following her announcement in February that she is expecting another boy. On her involvement in the reunion, Marnie said: "“I’m so excited for this reunion – it’s something me and so many of the other cast members have been waiting for. I’m so intrigued to watch it all play out. I have no idea how it’s going to go or what’s going to happen but I’m so ready for it. Bring it on!”

Marnie's cousin Sophie, as well as being an original cast member, has returned to the show on numerous occasions, as well as starring in its spin-off Geordie OGs. She commented “Seeing all the friends that turned into family and had such a big impact on my 20s is going to be emotional but also like nothing has changed, apart from our age and families. It’s a moment I’ve been waiting for."

Other cast members set to appear include Chloe Ferry, Nathan Henry, James Tindale Marty McKenna, Louis Shaw, Anthony Kennedy, Chantelle Connelly and Faith Mullen, after they all dressed up for an event that was happening in Newcastle last week, the same night Charlotte announced she was expecting a baby with boyfriend Jake Ankers.
