Messages of love and support have been sent to the family of a 'gentle' dad who died minutes before Liverpool's Champions League match against Benfica at Anfield.
Terrence Judge, 63, from Rainhill, collapsed minutes before kick-off at the quarter-final, after telling his son Oliver, 19, and brother, that he said he wasn’t feeling well. He was helped by dozens of fans, paramedics and stewards at the stadium, before being taken to the Royal Liverpool Hospital, where he was sadly pronounced dead.
His wife Louise, 50, said Terry was a “gentle man” and an “amazing dad” to Oliver. The Liverpool fan had held a season ticket for around 50 years. Louise said the family are devastated but that he was in the “best possible place he would have wanted to be”.

Terry was hospitalised with coronavirus in March 2020, which he caught after Liverpool’s match against Atletico Madrid. He suffered from long Covid and heart-related problems and went to see a cardiologist on the morning of Wednesday’s match.
Following news of Terry's death, ECHO readers were quick to share messages of support with his family.
