Genshin Impact Fischl guide: best weapons, artifacts, and teams

The last prominent appearance of Fischl in Genshin Impact was actually not long ago – she played a very important role in update 2.8’s story arc and even received a skin. Nevertheless, it is patch 3.0 that features the fanciful archer and her faithful night raven Oz in the banners as a 4-star character.

This is very good timing, as the self-proclaimed Prinzessin der Verurteilung is an exceedingly powerful sub-DPS for many team compositions – including squads based around the new 5-star character Tighnari. The following build guide explains how to best equip Fischl as a sub DPS or off-field DPS in Genshin Impact.

Genshin Impact Fischl: best weapons

In the role of sub-DPS, Fischl’s abilities are the most important part of her kit, her attack damage plays second fiddle. Therefore, attributes such as Elemental Mastery and ability damage are the critical factors that determine her effectiveness.

For Fischl, the best weapon is not a rare 5-star weapon, but the 4-star bow of The Stringless. This provides Elemental Mastery as a secondary attribute and increases the damage of special abilities as well as Elemental Bursts by 24 percent.

This makes Fischl a particularly attractive character for free-to-play users, as both the character and her best weapon are much easier to obtain than other combinations.

Alternative weapons for Fischl in the specified role are:

  • Elegy For The End (5-star bow) – increases Attack and Elemental Mastery of the party.
  • Alley Hunter (4-star bow) – increases damage when the character is inactive.
  • Favonius Warbow (4-star bow) – increases Energy Recharge.

If you want to play Fischl as the main DPS of your team, which is also possible, you can’t avoid a 5-star weapon. In this case, Skyward Harp, Elegy For The End, Thundering Pulse, or Aqua Simulacra would be suitable options.

Genshin Impact Fischl: best artifacts

Since damage from special abilities and Elemental Bursts is especially important for Fischl, and both of these cause Electro damage, increasing this is a good step towards improving your build.

When it comes to artifacts, Thundering Fury is a strong choice accordingly. Starting with two pieces, this set increases Electro damage by 15 percent. Starting with four pieces, it increases the damage of the reactions Overloaded, Electro-Charged, Superconduct, and Hyperbloom by 40 percent, increases the damage bonus from Aggravate by 20 percent, and shortens the cooldown of the wearer’s elemental skills on triggering these reactions and Quicken by one second.

This not only improves the pure damage Fischl deals when combined with the rest of the party, but also ensures that her elemental abilities are up and running again sooner.

Pay attention to the following distribution of artifact stats:

  • Plume: Attack (main stat), Critical Damage, Critical Hit Rate, Attack %, Energy Recharge (sub stats).
  • Flower: HP (main stat), Critical Damage, Critical Hit Rate, Attack  %, Energy Recharge (sub stats).
  • Sands: Attack % (main stat), Critical Damage, Critical Hit Rate, Energy Recharge, Elemental Mastery (sub stats).
  • Goblet: Electro Damage % (main stat), Critical Damage, Critical Hit Rate, Attack  %, Energy Recharge (sub stats).
  • Circlet: Critical Damage (main stat), Critical Damage, Critical Hit Rate, Attack %, Energy Recharge (sub stats).

If you want to build more towards using Fischl as your main DPS, supplement two pieces of Thundering Fury with two pieces of Gladiator’s Finale. This boosts Fischl’s pure Attack value, making her arrow shots more effective. A full set of Echoes Of An Offering would also be great in this case.

How do you play Fischl in Genshin Impact?

Fischl takes the field right at the start of a rotation, even before the rest of the sub and off-field DPS characters. Send the Prinzessin out and use her special ability to summon Oz, who deals constant Electro damage for a while. Immediately put Fischl back on the bench and then bring your other characters into the fight.

Once the elemental effects on the field are depleted, call Fischl out again – if Oz is still on cooldown, simply use Fischl’s Elemental Burst, which will bring the raven onto the field without any further delay. Fischl then moves off again. Overall, she doesn’t spend much time in active combat herself, but mainly contributes Oz’s services to the team’s success.

Genshin Impact Fischl: best teams

Fischl is a useful addition to any team composition that can utilize Electro damage, thanks to Oz. Double-Electro teams with Fischl are especially powerful.

In a Double-Electro team, Fischl contributes two things: constant Electro damage for reactions and the generation of energy particles to charge elemental abilities. Because two Electro figures are present in such a composition, Electro Resonance is created, adding to the Energy Recharge. Here are some powerful examples:

  • Tighnari (Main DPS), Collei (Sub DPS), Fischl (Sub DPS), Kuki Shinobu (Support).

Newly available in update 3.0, this composition with Dendro and Electro Resonance takes advantage of all the fresh tools from the patch. If you want to learn how to use the Dendro element, this is a good starter combination before more characters in this category appear.

  • Eula (Main DPS), Beidou (Sub DPS), Fischl (Sub DPS), Diona (Support).

If you have Raiden available, she can replace Beidou and in unison with Fischl provide virtually constant Electro effects on the field. She also additionally helps with recharging, allowing Eula and Diona to use their abilities steadily.

  • Childe (Main DPS), Kazuha (Sub DPS), Fischl (Sub DPS), Kuki Shinobu (Support).

This combination is very flexible, so instead of Childe, Kamisato Ayato or Shikanoin Heizou can be the main DPS, and Venti or Saccharose can replace Kazuha.
