A genius cat left his owner shocked when he learnt how to scale a fence and activate the motion detector doorbell to get into the house.
Amanda, who is in her 40s, was surprised when she received a notification saying that someone was at her door, only to find out it was her cat.
The long-haired, male, ginger cat Izzy, who is just eight months old, had climbed a wisteria arch and jumped on the postbox, alerting the motion sensor on the doorbell.
When Amanda answered, the cat even meowed to let the owner know he wanted to come in.
Ring's Advanced Motion Detection feature meant that Amanda’s phone was alerted when someone (human or feline) is near the door, with Izzy clocking how to take advantage and hop back indoors, reports Wales Online.
A video filmed by the Ring Video Doorbell 3 Plus showed the cat staring into the camera and listening to his owner's voice.
Amanda, from Ely, Cambridgeshire, described Izzy as an "adventurous" cat who loves climbing and is "quite vocal".
She said the clever cat has repeated the trick several times after discovering it, and it's been helpful because she cannot install a catflap on her glass doors.
Amanda said: "He does like to climb. We've got an orangery in the back of our garden and quite often you hear him meowing pitifully and you realise he’s on the roof trying to work his way down."
Though Izzy is "quite big for his age", he’s a gentle giant and gets along well with Amanda’s parrot, chickens, and ducks.
The woman received the doorbell as a gift from her mum two years ago, adding: "We use it to see who is at the door because both myself and my partner work full time, so it is good when parcels come and you can tell them where to leave it."
A Ring spokesperson said: "We're always amazed at the different ways our devices come in handy for all types of people, creatures and animals.
"When we created Advanced Motion Detection, we didn't anticipate that clever cats would use it to persuade their owners to let them back inside.
"It was brilliant to see this remarkable moment captured using a Ring device."
