We knew nothing good would come from General Hospital’s Drew (Cameron Mathison) kissing Willow (Katelyn MacMullen). Although he wrote it off as a random occurrence that means nothing, she’s found herself feeling guilty, and understandably so. She’s married to Michael (Chad Duell), and Michael trusts not only her as his wife, but he trusts Drew as well given Drew is his uncle and business partner. Willow is usually someone who moves in truth and honesty, and keeping this secret is a burden she’s not used to carrying.
Perhaps that’s why she’ll feel the need to share what happened with someone and get their perspective. Since Carly (Laura Wright) and Josslyn (Eden McCoy) are related by blood to Michael, Willow will rule them out of her usual support system with this issue. During the week of July 15, she actually turns to Nina (Cynthia Watros) for advice.
Viewers know this is of course a big deal considering Willow and Nina have often been like oil and water over the last few years. Although they’re biologically mother and daughter, their relationship has hit several snags due to all the lies, manipulation and harsh words between them. However, in the present, they’re perhaps on better terms than ever, hence Willow feeling comfortable enough to turn to her mother.
Based on the following clip, it looks like Nina will be shocked to hear the news of Drew’s kiss when a tearful Willow reveals the story. Additionally, the video shows Nina confronting Drew and slapping him for his actions. Take a peek below.
If that slap was any indication, Nina is going to go full-on mama bear mode and do what she needs to in order to protect her daughter. Not only that, but considering she and Drew have been hooking up themselves, she’ll likely feel outraged that he would make a play for her daughter. Nina and Drew may not be in a relationship, but social norms would usually dictate that if he’s been romantically involved with the mother, then going after the daughter is a major foul, a faux pas.
We can imagine Drew trying to shrug off the kiss as no big deal and something that happened in error in a brief moment. However, Nina probably won’t let him rationalize his actions that easily. Is it possible that Nina, already offended by his boldness in kissing her daughter, finds his nonchalant attitude even more infuriating, prompting her to take action?
As show fans know, Nina tends to let her anger cloud her judgment, which leads to her making some ill-advised choices in acts of revenge. We can imagine a scenario in which Nina lashes out at Drew by actively taking steps to tank his political ambitions. With him running for Congress, the slightest scandal or impropriety could cost him the election. Considering Nina is in the publication business, putting Drew on blast in the press isn’t exactly hard. However, if she takes that course of action, it could cost her Crimson... again.
