Michael Owen finally broke his silence over his daughter Gemma's Love Island journey - after previously revealing he'd left the country to escape the ITV2 show - but it could be a long road ahead for Luca Bish to gain the footballing legend's approval.
A body language expert has suggested that the 19 year old's family may not be too fond of Luca after watching him on TV.
During the penultimate episode of the show, viewers watched as Luca's parents and Gemma's mum Louise and friend Sarah entered the villa.
Louise referred to the air hostess challenge, during which Luca was left fuming after Gemma licked Adam even though - in Luca's own words - it was just a game.
While Louise told her daughter that she didn't do anything wrong, she said that she had wanted the pair to couple up at the beginning.
Last month, Louise had been critical of Luca over his behaviour towards Tasha, saying that he and Dami were "close to bullying" the dancer.
While the other couples have declared that they are 'official', Gemma has said that she wanted to wait until they left the villa to speak about exclusivity and wants Luca to meet her family first.
Yet body language expert Inbaal Hongiman has told the Daily Star that she believes that Gemma's parents are having doubts.
"Whether consciously or subconsciously, everyone can pick up on body language cues. Smiles, huffs, claps and crossed arms are all universal signs that exhibit how people feel. Non-verbal communication accounts for 60-70 percent of human communication," she said.
"Gemma's parents, watching their beloved teenage daughter from home, must be analysing every tiny gesture on their TV screen, and they can't possibly be forming a favourable opinion on Luca based on what they're seeing."
Michael has not yet openly spoken about his opinion on Luca, but a source told the Mail Online: “As any dad will understand, Michael isn’t exactly enjoying seeing Gemma’s love life play out on screen.
"There’s things a dad doesn’t need to witness. He’s seen a few of the episodes and from what he’s [seen], he thinks Luca and the other guys on the island seem like pretty decent fellas.“
