Gemma Collins sports a casual look with huge sunglasses, ahead of debut stage show

Gemma Collins looked cheerful as she left a hotel in Manchester, before the first night of her self-titled stage show.

The TOWIE star, 41, is touring the UK over seven nights, with her show The GC's Big Night Out, launching this evening at the Opera House in Manchester.

The TV personality was spotted leaving a hotel in the city, wearing a cream collared coat and huge sunglasses, with her hair thrown into a bun.

Gemma has promised fans the tour, which she will criss-cross the country for, will be "absolutely fabulous and the best night out".

It was reported last summer that the GC is set to set to rake in £250,000 from the tour- with a VIP meet and greet package having been sold at £113.

The engaged star will soon be a pro on the stage, as she's set to star as Mama Morton in the musical Chicago.

Speculation arose last month that Gemma was in talks to play the role, and last week she confirmed she will be performing up and down the country.

Taking to Instagram last Tuesday, the business woman revealed her Chicago debut is just weeks away.

Uploading a snap of her flanked by male dancers, the star wrote: “It’s official! I’m gonna be joining @chicagoonstage playing Matron ‘Mama’ Morton from Tues 31st May 2022!”

She will be playing the role until the end of July with performance dates in Sunderland, Cardiff, Blackpool, Sheffield, Norwich and Oxford.

The star added in her statement: "I’m so excited #allthatjazz #GCdoesChicago."

Meanwhile, British theatre producer David Ian told the MailOnline: “We were completely stunned by Gemma's audition.

“She's an undeniable force both on and off stage, and we can't wait to see her portrayal of Mama Morton on tour.

“Audiences across the country are in for a treat!”

The reality star is taking over the role from Sinitta – who has been starring on stage in the production of the crime-thriller musical since the latter half of last year.

While Gemma is known to most as a cast member of The Only Way Is Essex, she has got roots in the world of live performing.

In her youth, the blonde bombshell studied dance and landed a place at the renowned Sylvia Young Theatre School in London.

According to a source close to the star, Gemma is hoping to put her salary towards the 'glitziest wedding possible' after she became engaged to Rami, 28, for a second time in December.

An insider told Closer Magazine: "It's no secret Gemma wants the glitziest, most extravagant wedding possible and, as her demands have continued, she's realised she needs to be pulling in some serious money to make that happen.

"Gemma loves to perform and feels this one last big thing before her and Rami get married.

"The big pay cheque was an added motivation and will help pay for the lavish wedding she's planning."
