Gemma Collins' former friend Saffron Lempriere has accused the GC of being "bored of her own life" and unhappy.
It comes after TOWIE icon Gemma, 42, accused the majority of the show's cast of being terrible and saying there are "no stars."
Saffron, who joined the ITV reality programme five years ago, hit back at her ex pal, adding it would be an "insult" to be labelled a star by Gemma.
The GC appeared on TOWIE from 2011 until 2019, and has gone on to appear in Dancing on Ice, Celebrity Big Brother and has her own podcast.
The Essex based reality show has launched the careers of Sam and Billie Faiers, Joey Essex, Mark Wright and more, but Gemma believes it has now lost its star power.
Responding to her claims, Saffron told MailOnline: "TOWIE put her on the map. She earned a lot of money through TOWIE. I used to run her business for her. She earned a fortune."
"And because she's not on it and she's bored of her own life and watching now this play out, she's unhappy and she has to dig and that's my return on that, really."
When her colleageus Junaid Ahmed said they were stars, Saffron added: "But I'm not offended by that. Gemma Collins justifying me as a star would be an insult anyway."
Saffron's remarks came after Gemma revealed she had tuned into the show.
She said: “I watched it the other night and I’ll never get those minutes of my life back. What’s happened?
“There were about two scenes in it. Chloe Brockett was good, and the new girl Elma [Pazar] but the rest of them were terrible.
“There’s no stars there, darling – we were stars.”
In the summer, Gemma acknowledged TOWIE's role in jumpstarting her career, but said she was an "another level" compared to her former co-stars.
Speaking to the Mirror, the GC said: "I’m like an international superstar,” she claimed. “I’m not being funny, my life has moved on.
“I love them all and wish them all well [the cast], but I’m in a different league now, hun.
“I’ve worked really hard and I’m in a different category now."
She adds: “I don’t mean it flash or stuck up, what I mean is you can’t let your past define your future.
In 2020, Saffron admitted she and Gemma were once like sisters but no longer speak, but she wishes her "all the happiness."
However, a few months on, Saffron furiously slammed Gemma after the GC's interview on Piers Morgan's Life Stories.
Taking to Instagram, she posted an image of a quote that read: "I am at a place in my life where peace is my priority and negativity cannot exist."
Saffron claimed alongside the quote: "Yep you don't treat anyone like that getting satisfaction from hurting someone will never win.
In an extreme message, she said: Take your croc tears it don't work … GC Generic C**t".
