Gemma Atkinson appears to have confirmed her return to Strictly Come Dancing but sadly, she won't be back on the dancefloor. The Hits Radio host looks set to join the audience on Saturday night (November 19) as she supports her man Gorka Marquez and his dance partner Helen Skelton.
The pair made it through to the much-anticipated show in the seaside resort's iconic Blackpool Tower during the results show on Sunday night after impressing in the ballroom during the latest live show. Gemma, from Bury, was cheering her fiance and his celebrity dance partner on from home over the weekend.
The 37-year-old regularly posts on Instagram as she watched along from her Greater Manchester home, usually alongside her and Gorka's three-year-old daughter Mia. But over the weekend, Gemma was watching the show solo. "I'm watching solo tonight. Mia's at my sister's sleeping over bless her," she said in a video on her Instagram Stories on Saturday night.
Gemma added: "She's having a little sleepover. It's weird. I normally have my lttle sidekick there going 'papa and Mill Mellor!" Gemma then shared an image of Gorka and Helen looking triumphant after their salsa to Despacito. She showed her pride and support by adding a stream of applauding hands to the picture.
But on Sunday evening, she had her little girl back and the pair were donning their new festive pyjamas, from Gemma's latest In The Style range, preparing to see if Gorka and Helen had made it through to Blackpool. In the meantime, the pair enjoyed a singsong with Gemma appearing to show off a hidden talent as she sung a few likes of You Are My Sunshine with the help of toddler Mia.
It was soon time, however, for the results to air and Mia was once again pleased, shrieking with excitement, as Will Mellor and Nancy Xu made it to week nine after it was revealed that she is a big fan of the former Two Pints of Lager star. But she did have the same reaction to her 'Papa' and Helen also making it to another week in the BBC One dance contest.
And it appears to have had Gemma reminiscing. The mum-of-one competed on the show herself in 2017 and partnered with Aljaž Škorjanec, she made it all the way to the final. It is also how she met Gorka and the loved-up couple have previously credited Strictly for their lives as they are now with daughter Mia.
Posting pictures of her and Aljaž, who announced he was leaving Strictly as a professional dancer earlier this year before the 20th series began, on the dancefloor in the famous ballroom as well as grabbing a coffee while donning novelty 'Blackpool' glasses.
"My Strictly Blackpool experience!" she typed alongside the snaps. "Of course I'll be going back next weekend as well," Gemma then revealed: "It's the best weekend on Strictly!" Gemma is yet to have been in the Strictly audience but Gorka has previously said that 'his girls' would be making a trip to see him and Helen live in action.
Last weekend Gorka brought home a special gift for his little girl after he and Helen danced the jive to Janelle Monae’s Tightrope. They looked stylish in matching sparkly black suits, ties and fedora hats. Gorka took to Instagram with a picture of himself and Mia donning the smart hats from their show-stopping routine.
"Mia wanted to wear the Hats from our Jive," he typed alongside a heart-warming photo. "Is it me or can she look more cute." But while fans were quick to agree about her being cute, Gorka's fans also couldn't help but share how much Mia was the 'double' of her former Emmerdale and Hollyoaks star mum.
