Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Dr. Nayef Falah Mubarak Al-Hajraf expressed sincere condolences and sympathy to the United Kingdom's royal family, government and people on the death of Queen Elizabeth II, the Saudi Press Agency reported Friday.
In a cable, the GCC Secretary General recalled the contributions of the queen and her role in enhancing Gulf-British relations, SPA said.
He also mentioned her efforts to improve friendship and partnership ties binding the Gulf Cooperation Council and the United Kingdom.
Al-Hajraf underscored the importance of the distinguished GCC-British ties, and cited their pivotal role in enhancing security, peace and stability and support for development, SPA said.
He wished the UK, its people and King Charles III every success and best wishes, it added.
