Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), Dr. Nayef Al-Hajraf stressed on Tuesday the importance of the Arab League summit in fostering collective Arab action to address regional and international issues, reported the Saudi Press Agency.
He made his remarks during his participation in the 31st regular session of the Arab League's Council at the summit level in Algeria.
Al-Hajraf hoped that the summit, hosted by Algeria, would signal the beginning of a new phase based on a shared understanding of addressing security and stability challenges, joint Arab action, and cooperation in all areas, most notably recovery from coronavirus pandemic, improving food security, fighting terrorism, and tackling foreign interference in the affairs of the Arab countries.
He was grateful for the preparations made by Algeria and the Secretariat General of the Arab League, wishing that their efforts would help realize hopes and aspirations in a way that would strengthen Arab unity.
