Gaza Health Ministry Reports 32 More Deaths In Ongoing Conflict

In Gaza, rows of white shrouds symbolize mounting civilian deaths

Recent reports from Gaza's Health Ministry have revealed the devastating impact of Israeli military operations in the region. Over the past 200 days of war, a total of 34,183 people have lost their lives, with 32 more deaths reported most recently. The ministry's data does not differentiate between civilian and fighter casualties, highlighting the widespread toll of the conflict.

According to the Health Ministry in Ramallah, a staggering 72% of those killed in Gaza were children, women, and the elderly. In the occupied West Bank, the death toll has reached 487, including 122 children under the age of 18. The surge in violence by Israeli settlers and troops in the West Bank has exacerbated the situation.

The Government Media Office in Gaza has raised concerns about the high number of missing persons, estimating that 7,000 individuals are unaccounted for. Tragically, the office reported that 14,778 children and 9,752 women have lost their lives in Gaza over the past 200 days. Additionally, 17,000 children in Gaza have been orphaned, further underscoring the humanitarian crisis.

The scale of destruction in Gaza is immense, with 86,000 homes destroyed and 294,000 partially destroyed and uninhabitable. Furthermore, 103 schools and colleges have been destroyed, and more than 300 others have sustained damage, disrupting education for thousands of children.

It is important to note that the lack of international media access to Gaza has hindered independent verification of these numbers, emphasizing the need for increased transparency and accountability in conflict reporting.
