Chris Rock looks "fearful and bewildered" after being slapped by Will Smith, an expert claims.
Body language expert and author Judi James tells the Mirror that the comedian has lost his boyish toothy grin after the controversial events at Sunday night's Oscars.
Chris had made a bald joke about Jada Pinkett Smith, telling her he couldn't wait to see her in GI Jane 2, referencing how Demi Moore famously shaved her head for the role.
Jada, who has alopecia, looked visibly upset as she rolled her eyes, and her husband Will wasn't happy.
He stormed the stage and slapped Chris across the face before returning to his seat and shouting at him: "Keep my wife's name out your f***ing mouth."
Chris was seen yesterday for the first time since it happened.
He was pictured walking with his hands stuffed in his pockets and his head pointed towards the ground.
Wearing a baseball cap, he appeared to be keeping his head low while he walked through Boston ahead of six sold-out shows for his Ego Death World Tour.
Here's what Judi made of his body language...
While the man that delivered the shocking slap at the Oscars was seen looking smug and upbeat as he danced and showboated in front of the cameras in what looked like the body language version of a victory role, the guy who was actually attacked looks as though he has aged ten years in a few days here, with a gaunt face and hunched shoulders.
Chris is famous for his wide, toothy grin and very boyish facial expression. Here though he keeps his head bowed, while his expression suggests some ongoing bewilderment, endorsing his claim that he is ‘still processing’ what happened.
With his hands stuffed into his pockets and his hat brim pulled low he signals a desire to hide here and his raised brows and wide eye expression look almost fearful. It seems he got a three minute standing ovation when he took to the stage for his new show and, judging from his body language here, he probably needed that signal of public support and on-going affection.
Chris broke his silence on the slap while he was on stage last night.
He told his audience: "I don't have a bunch of s*** to say about [the incident], so if you came here for that ... I had written a whole show before this weekend."
He added: "I'm still processing what happened. At some point I'll talk about that s***. It'll be serious. It'll be funny, but right now I'm going to tell some jokes."
Meanwhile, Will, who won the Best Actor gong for his role in King Richard moments after, has issued a public apology to Chris.
He posted on Instagram : "Violence in all of its forms is poisonous and destructive. My behaviour at last night’s Academy Awards was unacceptable and inexcusable.
"Jokes at my expense are a part of the job, but a joke about Jada’s medical condition was too much for me to bear and I reacted emotionally.
"I would like to publicly apologise to you, Chris. I was out of line and I was wrong. I am embarrassed and my actions were not indicative of the man I want to be. There is no place for violence in a world of love and kindness."
Will went on to apologise to the Academy as he added: "I would also like to apologise to the Academy, the producers of the show, all the attendees and everyone watching around the world.
"I would like to apologize to the Williams Family and my King Richard Family. I deeply regret that my behavior has stained what has been an otherwise gorgeous journey for all of us.
"I am a work in progress. Sincerely, Will."
Right after the ceremony on Sunday, Will had appeared to be in high spirits as he arrived at the Vanity Fair after party.
He had a huge grin on his face as he posed up clutching his award and then danced to his own song in the party while high-fiving fellow guests.
